At times when I listen to music I can envision runway shows.. maybe its the fact that music & fashion, in its artistic sense, has been my first loves since a child.. who knows. So I thought of the idea of compiling some of those tracks into 15 minute mixes/soundtracks and creating a series of these soundtracks that can be paired with past runway shows or simply used to create your own presentations in your mind.
This first soundtrack compiles abstract ambient sounds from jean-michel jarre, aphex twin, schlomo, conrad schnitzler, sinoia caves, and lucky dragons. At first I contemplated on rather or not I should pair the soundtrack with a runway show and maybe allow the listener to pair it with one of their favorites are just use their imagination, yet I decided for this first one I’ll pair it with a show that fits it aesthetically aswell as somewhat conceptually.
The show I decided upon, Junya Watanabe’s Spring Summer 2015 collection, at first glance draws inspiration from op-art elements, and 60s/70s space age aesthetics so I found it to be the perfect pairing for a light yet experimental spacey soundscape driven mix.
Below you can view some of my favorite moments of the collection and listen to the mix while viewing the show by pressing play on both simultaneously and muting the youtube video… or you can just listen to the mix! its completely up to the you! Enjoy.
